Project Scope


  • Design of oil pan for a 1.5L, 3-cylinder engine used in a light commercial vehicle

  • Develop two variants: Cast and Sheet Metal types

  • Ensure oil capacity of 7L, considering full lubrication circuit

  • Optimize ground clearance while maintaining effective volume

  • Perform virtual tilt analysis for up to 30° gradeability

  • Ensure robust gasket sealing and manufacturability
