Let’s imagine, when we have to get ready for the offices but before that we must do lots of other work based on our daily needs like cleaning the house, making the breakfast and preparing the lunch or if we don’t do it by ourselves then we are dependent on somebody. But imagine, if our daily basis work is done by a machine then our life is more sorted, and we would be having time to focus on other things. Let’s take another example if we aren’t well, want to go to the doctor for the basic check-up but the doctor is not available or sometimes even after taking the appointments sometimes we have to wait for the doctors for long and it’s a time-consuming task. So, instead of depending on doctors we can have automated machines for basic check-ups which can give quick and fast services. Therefore, this imagination of automating the system can be possible by collecting the data of the past, analyzing, finding the hidden facts from the data, getting the insightful patterns & trends and making predictions for the future using technology, mathematical & statistical techniques.
If we want to make our machines to assist us then we need to make it interactive that can understand human languages and can talk to us as a friend, supporter, or guide. If a soldier wants to get an experience of war before jumping into the actual war, then the trained machines can help soldiers to create virtual wars that can give better experience and training to them. Similarly, the machines can be used to help visually challenged people by becoming their eyes helping in detecting each object, informing them and making them aware of every situation.
Data is everywhere and everyone deals with lots of data. Like shop owners must keep the record of their sales on daily basis, based on that they decide to keep the offer on their items e.g., during festivals and wedding seasons the sale of jewellery, clothes and sweets is more than other normal days. So, based on this analysis the shop owners must keep their stocks available in good amount plus learn to manage the crowd and rush in the shops. In contrast, on normal days shop owners usually keep ‘sales’ to attract customers. Data insights help to better understand, manage and strategically exploit the complex dynamics of customer behaviour.
Every day humans face new challenges, gain some new experiences and keep learning some of the other skills. These experiences and learning help humans in the future to handle more difficult & complex situations. So, if we want our machines to interact with humans, understand and behave like humans, then we need to make our machines intelligent which can have the capability of learning from their past experiences as humans. Let’s take an example of self-driving cars, earlier no one might have thought of a car that doesn’t require a human to drive but nowadays such cars are available which are trained from past data or experiences and the system is also automated. The person will be sitting comfortably in the car, just need to tell the destination of the car and the car will drive to the destination by itself. The machines are trained in such a way that they can handle almost all the challenges that commonly occur on roads. The analysis and predictions of the data available help to make the systems automated for the future.
In this way, machines can be used effectively and can assist us in various fields. The use of data and technology in a proper way can give very good insights which can further help us in getting better business solutions. The use of intelligent automated systems can help us to reduce our workload, make our lives easier and get faster services. This will lead us to focus on other action items of our liking instead of doing repetitive mundane work on a daily basis.
